We carry out Electrical Periodic Inspection Reports (PIR) that should be tested every 5 years and Electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) that should be tested every 2 years. We do not charge VAT and our prices start from £110 for a PIR and from £40 for PAT.

Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

All circuits are inspected and tested to see if they are correctly wired i.e positive, neutral and earth (Polarity Test). The distribution board is checked for the presence of RCD’s and if present these are tested to see if they quickly switch off from the supply as expected. A visual check of the entire installation is carried out from electrical bonding on pipework to scorch marks on socket plates and the presence of electrics in bathrooms and kitchens. For a flat we charge £110 +VAT, 1-3 bedroom house £150 +VAT and 4-6 bedroom plus is £180 +VAT.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Earth Continuity Test – A reliable earth connection on a class 1 appliance or extension lead. Insulation Resistance Test – Detect and electricity escaping from wires or appliance. Polarity Test – Positive and negative are correctly wired. Ensure that flexes are in order and properly attached to appliances and plugs. Plugs are of an approved type with sleeved live and neutral pins and conform to British Standard 1363. Look for signs of overheating, burn marks and discolouration. PAT Testing of up to 15 items is £40 and 15-30 items is £50.
